What days of the week do we build?

  • Habitat teams build on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.


How much does it cost?

  • The minimum donation requirement is $1,000.


  • HFHOC will issue a letter of receipt for the total value of your sponsorship.

Is there a receipt issued for this sponsorship?


  • 10 people maximum for each shift.

What is the maximum number of people who can participate?


  • We require 2 weeks notice for cancellations.

How much notice do you require for cancellations?


  • Please arrive by 8:00 a.m. or noon, depending on your shift beginning time. Report to the site host. There will be a short overview, safety speech, prayer, and explanation of the day’s tasks. Work will begin immediately following.

What time do we arrive on site?


  • A representative from HFHOC will greet you upon arrival to register you, your team and introduce you to our Construction Director.

Will there be someone there to greet us?


  • Each team should bring snacks or lunch, and bottled water will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty, stained, etc. Closed toed shoes or boots are required. For safety, tie long hair back and remove jewelry. Hats, sunscreen and sun-glasses are advisable. If you wear shorts, they should be knee-length. Tools will be provided, but we suggest you bring work gloves. However, we do have some available on site.

How should I prepare?


  • We have a portable toilet on the build site.

What type of bathroom facilities are on site?


  • No experience is required. 

Do volunteers need previous experience?


  • There is something for everyone on site. Please inform your crew leader if you are not comfortable with the task that you have been assigned.

What if someone is not comfortable building?


  • Volunteers must be 16 years of age of older to participate on a Habitat build site.

Are there age restrictions for volunteers?


  • Tasks vary depending on the construction schedule.
