Meet Brooke Alley

Brooke is an incredible single mom who’s doing everything she can to build a better life for herself and her son, Orville. Right now, they’re living in her mom’s basement. It’s not perfect, but it’s been their safe haven. Before that, they moved from place to place—unsafe neighborhoods, places that never felt like home. Brooke’s been determined to make sure that’s all behind them. More than anything, she wants Orville to have a place where he knows he’ll always be safe—a place to call home.

Brooke works long hours at The Village Bake Shop—14-hour shifts, to make ends meet. She’s creative, but her dream is much bigger than her job. She wants a home filled with love, where she and Orville can truly thrive. You can see it in the small moments they share—reading bedtime stories every night or spending weekends outdoors with his Cub Scout troop. She’s making sure Orville knows he’s loved, and she’s teaching him the value of making the most of every moment together.

Now, they’re close to making that dream a reality through Habitat for Humanity. And for Brooke, it’s about so much more than moving into a new house. She wants Orville to see that with hard work and determination, you can overcome anything life throws at you. You know what the first thing she wants to do when they get the keys? Throw a dance party in their new living room! She’s already planning it—a fun, spontaneous celebration of how far they’ve come.

Every day, Brooke holds on to her dream and she can feel the excitement building. She’s not just waiting for a house; she’s waiting for a new beginning. A place where they can settle, create new memories and finally just be. It’s all love, hard work and anticipation as they count down the days to their fresh start.
