Meet Veneacia Chaney
Reflecting on their current living situation, Veneacia knows it’s simply "a place, not a home." For five years, she and her daughter, Lola, have shared an apartment, but with rent climbing higher, it’s becoming harder to make it feel like the home they deserve. Veneacia dreams of more than just four walls—a real home where her daughter can grow, thrive and find joy in the simple things, like having her very own backyard.
For Lola, the dream of a backyard is like magic—a private space just for her, a place to dribble her basketball or practice her cheerleading moves. The thumping of basketballs and the swooshing of pom-poms fill their days, but Veneacia imagines a home where those sounds will be met with the laughter and comfort that comes with stability and love.
Veneacia’s journey is one defined by unwavering compassion. Whether she’s assisting in Hamilton County Schools or supporting others in her community, her heart is always open. But now, she’s ready to pour that same love and care into building a future for her and Lola—a home where they can create cherished memories and dream big.
Through Habitat for Humanity, Veneacia is not just looking for a house; she’s crafting a space where love blossoms, where every corner resonates with hope and where her daughter can dream as big as she wants. As she works toward her own goal of becoming an elementary school teacher, Veneacia knows their future home will be more than a place to live—it will be a foundation for growth, stability and endless possibilities.
