Meet the Zumaya Family

Charlotte and James Zumaya have always dreamed of building a better future for their three children—Sophia, Isabella and Ezra. As parents, they've worked hard to create a life filled with love, values, and opportunity, but the road to homeownership has been difficult. Rising rent, limited space, and the uncertainty of rental housing have made it challenging to give their children the stability every child deserves.

When they learned they were accepted into Habitat for Humanity of Cleveland’s homeownership program, the Zumayas were overwhelmed with gratitude. A permanent home means room for their children to play, study and dream without the fear of moving again. It also means the ability to invest in their future with confidence.

Charlotte and James are eager to work alongside Habitat volunteers to help build their own home, putting in sweat equity hours as a symbol of their commitment and hope. They’re excited to learn new skills, meet other families in the program and take part in a community that supports one another. Their children are especially looking forward to having their own rooms and a backyard to call their own.

This new chapter represents a turning point for the Zumaya family. With the support of Habitat and the generosity of donors and volunteers, they are one step closer to achieving stability and independence. They’re ready to build not just a house—but a home filled with memories, milestones and a future they can shape together.
