Meet Brieanna Mick
In the quiet plains of Indiana, Brieanna's heart longed for a brighter future. As a single mother of Leland and Raylan—her journey has been guided by an unwavering belief that God would light her path. Every challenge she’s faced has been an opportunity for her to seek God’s presence, and with each step, her faith has grown stronger.
It’s been five years since Brieanna and her family set off on their new life in Tennessee. Along the way, memories of her high school friend’s experience with Habitat for Humanity began to stir something in her. The mission of Habitat—to provide homes and hope—ignited a spark and she started to see that maybe, just maybe, this dream of hers could come true.
Right now, she and her kids live in a small two-bedroom apartment, and while she’s made it a home, it hasn’t been easy. There’s no space for Leland to run or play and her dream of a backyard—where Leland could jump on his own trampoline and Raylan could learn to walk—is just out of reach. But Brieanna’s never been one to give up.
During the day, Brieanna works as a Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician, but when she’s home, the kitchen becomes her playground, and she and Leland bond over homemade pizzas and breakfast experiments. Those moments together mean the world to her, far more than just the meals they share.
Now, she sees a whole new future unfolding. One of the most meaningful parts of this journey for Brieanna is the chance to honor her Great Grandmother’s legacy. In their new home, she plans to continue the family tradition of lighting candles, inspired by the guidance and hope that St. Jude, the patron saint of hope, has provided her family. This isn’t just a story of moving from one place to another—it’s a story of the power of faith, family and the hope that has carried her through.
