Meet The McFaddins
Just over a year into marriage, Luke and Alonzo are enjoying building a life together alongside their cat, Azazal. They appreciate the simple things—quiet evenings watching crime shows or car shows, spending time together, and dreaming about what the future holds.
Today, they live in an apartment, but the stairs have become increasingly difficult for Luke to navigate. As they began thinking about the future, they realized they needed a home that better fit their needs—a single-story home where daily life would be easier and more accessible. Just as importantly, they were looking for a place that would provide long-term affordability and stability.
Throughout their journey, Alonzo's mother has been their greatest source of encouragement and support. When they decided to apply for Habitat for Humanity and were accepted into the program, they were overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.
When asked what they are most proud of, neither points to an accomplishment or possession. Instead, they point to each other and the life they have built together.
For Luke, homeownership means "the world." Together, they look forward to having a place that is truly their own—a home they can decorate, make memories in, and enjoy for years to come.
As they prepare for this next chapter, Luke and Alonzo are deeply grateful for every volunteer, donor, and supporter who has made this opportunity possible. They want the Habitat community to know they are committed to honoring that investment by caring for their home, being good neighbors, and giving back however they can.
For them, this home represents more than a new address. It is the foundation for a future built on love, stability, and a community they are proud to be part of.
