Meet Lizzie Lipscomb

Originally from Middletown, Ohio, Lizzie Lipscomb later lived in Baltimore before moving to Cleveland nearly five years ago to be closer to her brother. Although he has since passed away, Cleveland became the place where she chose to put down roots and continue building her life.

Faith is at the center of Lizzie's life. She enjoys attending church, participating in Bible study, and spending time at the senior center. Through every season, her nephews and her church family have been a steady source of love, encouragement, and support.

Lizzie had long known about Habitat for Humanity, but it was the encouragement of a Habitat homeowner that gave her the confidence to apply. As the cost of her apartment continued to rise, she realized that affordable homeownership could provide the stability she had been searching for. When she learned she had been accepted into the program, she felt overwhelmed with gratitude and thankful for the opportunity to begin a new chapter.

She looks forward to the simple joys that come with having a home of her own—unpacking, getting everything organized, and knowing she has a place where she can truly settle in. More than anything, this home represents peace of mind and the chance to put down lasting roots.
